I can't remember where I read this little tip but I love it! I hate drying herbs, so now I just swish them in a large bowl of water and shake them off, dry them this way on the counter so they are ready when I need them later. Usually at this point I will put them in 1/2 cup portions, put in a mason jar and suck the air out with my food saver. Into the freezer they go. For other herbs I likely will freeze in smaller ice cube trays to get tablespoon portions. But for a dressing Jordy and I use everyday I need lots of 1/2 cup portions of dill and parsley lol:)
Our Journey to change our dietary lifestyle has been very difficult, as parents, and as life long JUNK eaters. The kids are so young we have had a lot of success with them, and we are trying to read as much as we can and try different recipes and change our taste buds forever. It can be done, our taste buds are trained by our culture. We have decided we dont want the standard american diseases, and therfore this is our journey to defeat the standard American diet that causes them.

Carrot juice
So many soup recipes and other recipes call for carrot juice. I hate juicing day. I recently discovered organic carrot juice at Costco with no added ingredients...just carrot juice. Oh happy day! Soooo I buy it in bulk, and since I hate wasting carrot juice by freezing it all together and then thawing too much at a time, I came to this idea. Silicone cupcake trays ...these are 1/2 cup each. Then I found more on amazon that are silicone mini loaf pans that hold about 2 cups. Now I can freeze them in many measurements and just add what I need to a recipe! Oh happy day. Of course I love my food saver to sucl all that pesky air out and these will taste brand new:)
I also will be freezing lemon juice this way so it doesn't spoil, I can just use the larger silicone ice cube trays that hold a couple tablespoons each for the lemon juice! Woot
